Beth joined the Single Mom Strong Sacramento community in 2021, and "experienced a mental shift in [her] attitude toward being a single mom." She now recognizes her strength and credits the SMS community for giving her opportunities to thrive.

Her passion for our mission brought her to our team in 2025. Her expertise in public speaking, professional writing, and engagement has enabled her to craft compelling stories, inspire teams, and drive growth in past roles. She brings this unique blend of skills to her role as Program Director.
As a career woman and parent, Tara worked hard to give her daughter all of the opportunities every child deserves, along with the support of a caring, loving extended family “community”. It was through this experience that the concept of Single Mom Strong™ was born.
Elicia Clark joined our team in 2022. In addition to her 13 years of experience, Elicia spent two years learning, growing and embodying our EmpowerME values before becoming Childcare Director for EmpowerME Preschool & Childcare in 2024. She is a gift to our children, and a respectful and thoughtful leader.

Childcare
EmpowerME Pre-school & Childcare programs make quality early childhood education accessible to all young children by making preschool affordable, even on a single income budget. The same level of quality and affordability is extended to serve school-age children on all days schools are closed. The values-based curriculum, home-like environment and culturally responsive programming at EmpowerME encourage self-expression and emphasize social-emotional development.

Designed to be a safe, fun, reliable resource for working families, we are currently offering an Infant/ Toddler, Preschool, Pre-K/Kinder Program and School-age Non-School Day Care at our Citrus Heights (Antelope/I-80) location and Preschool/Pre-K at our Sacramento (Arden/I-80) location.

Single Mom Strong’s Career Exploration Workshop Series gives women access to industries with low educational requirements and high income potential.
Are you returning to the workforce? Are you currently working, but not earning what you’re worth? Are you feeling trapped in a career or industry that you don't love? This is NOT your typical career fair! You'll explore your options in the safe, friendly SMS environment you know and love. Lunch is included and, as with all of our programs, on-site childcare is always available. Plus, we will talk with WOMEN in the industry, asking REAL questions about what it is like to work in their field, how they balance work and family, their experience with career advancement in the industry, etc.
